Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Just landed on the doorstep a complete set of build the red barons triplane.
This set came out after the build the titanic witch dates this from the early 2000s.IMG_20230625_111001_edit_7100218705686.jpgIMG_20230625_110950_edit_7120287212975.jpgIMG_20230625_110842.jpg

Been watching on YouTube a site called modelshed. Steves a superb modelor and over 50 episodes built the 1/200 trumpeter Hood. Have learnt a lot just watching, including areas where I have been making mistakes! So what the hell followed him by splashing out on the huge Pontosmodel PE upgrade set. This corrects the numerous faults with the kit.

Contains 2O sheets of PE, brass parts Inc barells, resin replacements, wooden and metal decks!20230625_155516.jpg20230625_155612.jpg20230625_155648.jpg
It cost more than the kit, got it from HK and even with customs getting me it was over £100 cheaper.

As they say, cannot take it with you! Opening the box gave me nightmares lol.

Did ever buy a kit because of the look of it??? I must be getting old (or stupid) as this is exactly what I did!!! Postman dropped these off this morning,

This has to be the fugliest plane ever built, with all that rigging and no MG's in sight. But that's not why I bought it,

Here's pic of the inside box cover and 2 other goodies I bought with it. The wheels are fine as wine and will be used for scratching a beaching dolly for a float plane...A close-up of the 3D printed wheels,

I was afraid to take one out of the bag as they look fragile and the best part is no cleanup required. The staple keeps them separated in the baggie. Now, why did I buy the wing thingy???........Honestly, it reminded me of a dog with worms, dragging his butt on the sidewalk!!!....And no, I'm not kidding..........

How does one recognise a fellow SMF afficionado at these functions? A Masonic- type handshake, or a secret Cabalistic code word perhaps? A lapel badge may be a good idea

Carry a jar of marmite....

“Contains B Vitamins” sounds like “Contains Second-Class Vitamins” if I’m honest … Also: “100% Vegetarian” — so are chips (if fried in vegetable oil, of course), but that doesn’t mean they’re 100% good for you.

Andrea, Tim and Dude 2,

You know Matron cannot help me at all. I'm beyond hope!!! To justify my purchase, I offer you all proof of what I stated. A dog,

And my Caudron G.III,

OIP (2).jpg
The likeness is definitely unmistakable. Oh, Caudron's can't land on the sidewalk and dogs can drag it wherever they want, so there!!!...

Just in from moat cleaning. Blanket weed , ( don't you hate it ) treated . Fish seem well , frogs confused as to why they can't climb out .Load of debris removed and filters cleaned out .
Postman has been and left this .
Couldn't find any standing as the box art.Think I have a driver some where .IMG_20230626_135826683.jpg
