Latest Acquisitions (2026)

I like cats too having had some as pets myself in the past.
Don't you just love them ?

Lovely, cuddly, affectionate (when they want to be), top of the tree garden predators.

As far as mice are concerned, they still need convincing that black cats are considered lucky ! Lol.

Love them all to be honest. Our four year old stripy tiger Dotty is the Bain of the local rodent population…..I’m sure this boy will eventually be taught the tricks. Frodo is being shown tolerance, with loud swearing if he gets too close. No aggression , just leave me alone vibes. I’m sure they’ll settle better later on though. One question for cat lovers…..how do you know when a kitten has the zoomies? They manically run everywhere all the time…..

A morning drive up to Samelsbury for IPMS Lancashire’s annual swap meet and I bagged these…from a club mate.

£15 for the Shackleton and £40 for the Merlin.
Nice acquisitions Rick. I remember you built the Airfix Shackleton, so the Revell kit will make an interesting comparison.

Not modelling related, but very much a new acquisition. Here is Frodo. He was found thrown away in a bin when he was a couple of hours old. He was brought in to the vets practice where my daughter works in a very poor state. His sister never survived the night. Alice took him on and hand reared him, feeding every three hours for the first few weeks. He is now weaned and has come home to the shire for his forever home. He now looks like this….

Handsome chap isn’t he.
I dont know how people can be so cruel to an animal, makes my blood boil. Well done to Alice for what she has done for him.

Great memory Joe: nine years ago!
I was contemplating waiting for the Airfix reboxing of their Shackleton which looks like it has two versions - MR & AEW. But when I saw this for £15 it was a no brainer. The surface detail is much different to the Airfix kit, lots and lots…..and lots of rivets.
The AEW2 fits into my wish list. As a boy I’d go to visit family on the Moray coast between Kinloss and Lossiemouth. From one side there’d be Nimrods and the other Shack’s, Bucc’s, Hunters and Jag’s - the sound and sight of the Shack’s was something else though.
