Just won my first e-bay auction. I'm the proud owner of a Revell Beriev Be-6 (Madge) .I told myself that I wouldn't mess with 1/72 scale again but this plane is still a good 33 cm's long so I'll give it a go. Does anyone have any experience with this one? Thanks

Hi joe , the Revell Be6 is a re-box of the old VEB Plasticart kit from way back. This was originally tooled in East germany while the cold war was still in full swing ,so is quite an old beast. Its par for the course for the early seventies -no interior ,basic detail but its the only game in town for a Be6 and quickly makes up into a fairly sizeable model , and at least you know the decals are going to be ok (unlike the VEB ones!!) cheers tony

An interesting find Joe.

I to have found one I have been after for a while.View attachment 69532

It even comes with RN markings. Saves me having to make/paint them.....Its an older kit with a mix of engraved and raised panel lines. So I can get to play with my panel scriber...

Hello guys.

Still grieving/mourning and still missing Lynn, understandable I suppose, will always miss her, but trying to move on. But I digress. After umming and ahhing (doesn't look quite right in text form but hopefully you'll get the drift!) I bought "Pegasus Great White Shark" from Tower Hobbies in the good ol' US of A. My two favorite films of all time

are King Kong and Jaws. I've got a Dark Horse King Kong and now (the closest I could get ..... a "Jaws" model)

My first impressions are:

1) The model of the Shark is quite heavy (at least a couple of Kgs)

2) The actual* shark must be near 12 inches long

3) The model cost around $30 (or £30 inc. postage in real money :) ) and is cheap for what you are getting

* The model NOT a REAL Shark

The diver (Did I not say there was a human figure aswell....sorry) is about 3-4 inches long. By my reckoning...if the figure was average height, say for example 6 ft, then the shark would be around 18ft to 24ft long, we're talking the JAWS Shark here, though I believe (from the t'internet) the model represents a female of about 9ft long, which means the figure is 2ft high ..... a dwarf (sorry not PC - a person of a shorter stature)

I'll post my review in the appropriate section

Thanx

Ian
