Got this little lot at the Telford show Yesterday.

The thing that looks like an orange Biplane kit is a set of razor saws.

I appreciate that this is not a rare, or uncommon, or weird or wonderful purchase that you guys often present here. However I was thrilled to purchase this kit in Modelzone for £4.99 today. On opening the box I think I'm seeing what might be a new tooling. I don't know about tooling like you guys do, but the lines and quality are outstanding. Also the instructions are diffeent to previous Airfix kits. Maybe this is just my first newish Airfix kit.

Well I spent a little cash whilst at Telford, more so because all the stuff I put in the kit swap sold :)

So heres what I bought,

Not as much as some but a couple of kits I wanted, the B25 was a £4 bargin! Really looking forward to making the 1:32 109E as I want to super detail it and test my skills to the max :)

Gill and I were at Lakeside at the W/E and guess what they have a Modelzone so I couldn't resist this one, only released last week and Christmas will be here before you know it. Had a quick peep inside and god she's big not quite sure where she's will go, I should have bought some more shelves from Ikea whilst we were there!.

*Forgot to mention it's retailing at £49.99 which for the detail and sheer size is good value for money*.

My lady and I were down the road from you at Bluewater on Sunday and popped into Modelzone there and what a disappointment. It was small and hardly had anything, only a few 32 scale models and a limited selection of tools/paint. I expected a kind of model superstore.... it was a waste of time. I will get my Uhu on-line at some point, from John!!!!

Barry the modelzone at Lakeside was very similar to your experience at Bluewater very small and literally no 1/32 scale models but they had the He219 which I wanted. Normally I shop in my local Modelzone in Norwich which is much bigger but saying that their stock is not that great these days for 1/32 aircraft.

I was in Bluewater Modelzone a few weeks ago, that is where I got the Dragon British 25lbr. But I agree, it is small and not well stocked especially for armour. The one in Ipswich in the Butter Market wasn't bad but I think the Peterborough one is better and the Meadowhall one at Sheffield possible the biggest and best I have been in. I tend to know most of the Modelzone stores that are close to Primark (which Bluewater does not have), it is where I go to avoid the endless slog around Primark of which my better half likes the Ipswich one very much........

Modelzone's tractor beam captured me and didn't let me go until I bought these;

Airfix JU-52, Sea King AEW, Douglas Dauntless, Trumpeter Warrior AFV all in 1/72; Airfix WMIK & Snatch L/R in 1/48 and a Grumman Avenger from Academy in 1/48. I also recently acquired a 1/24 scale Land Rover and 1/72 Dakota from Italeri.

Errrrr? Yes. I watched The Battle of Midway last week and that influenced some of the choices. I've always fancied doing a Ju-52 after seeing one at Cologne airport a few years ago - and there is another war movie influence here with Where Eagles Dare.

Aunty Ju is at the bottom of the pile mate. I'm gonna do the landie's first then having a crack at the USN aircraft before taking on the Sea King. Might as well seeing as I used to work on the HAR 3's at Lousymouth.
