After a lot of thinking and going back and forth I've now stopped doing this and made the call for airbrush and compressor upgrade!

There's going to be a lot of Ramen noodles the coming months but the paintwork is hopefully going to be fantastic! :D

Its when i see these bargains listed i wish i had transport. We have a tkmax here in swindon but like everything in this town its all out of the way and not easy to get too unless you have a car.

Your pearl harbour set looks very nice.

:)Bit of retail therapy after some stressful days at work this weekend. The 1/24 italeri jeep is a nice size but I'd really like to get my hands on the big dragon one which is 1:9 or 1:6 if I remember. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled at Telford.View attachment 289645 View attachment 289644 View attachment 289643 View attachment 289642

Top of the wish list.

I just saw that Nautilus yesterday at the C4-Open show (I took a picture of it too) and I didn't know it was all one kit?!
I loved the whole idea and perhaps I should try to get hold of it too?

Nice haul!

I built the jeep 1/6!!! Is a basic kit, but once built is a superb model to show. ;)

If you need some reference, there is an under construction thread somewhere.....

John

Nice collection but what i really like is your nautilus. I am Struggling to justify spending the money the price its going for but that is sure to increase as its out of production i believe now but i do really want one of these.

hope your purchases made up for you bad work days.

Trip to one of my other local model shops today for brass rod. Of course I had to rummage and these two caught my eye and I managed to get a small price reduction. View attachment 289703

Your sea hurricane looks good. Always nice to get a price reduction as well.

The Italeri Hurricane builds into a great model. You just need to be very careful doing the cockpit, or you might get fit issues joining the two fuselage halves.
Some rather nice additions being posted in here....

You have a choice - just a bit jealous................
Yes Colin I am very fortunate in that I have four model shops locally. I frequent then all on a regular basis. I'll be passing one of them today so I may have to pull in.:) Even if it's just to mix up the stock a little.;)
There can't me many people as fortunate as myself as model shops are a rarity on the high street these days.

Thanks Ian I'll make sure I watch out for the fit issues.
Cheers John

You are certainly spot on with that.

Here in swindon we used to have a shop called Trents that became Beatties. I spent just about all of my work lunch breaks in there catching up on the latest kits, picking up bits and pieces.

At the other end of the town we had the Swindon Model Centre. Fantastic local run shop that very sadly closed recently as the owner retired.

We do have one small shop left now called spot on models and while they carry some plastic kits the bulk of there retail seems to centre on trains.

You are indeed lucky because while buying online is convenient there is nothing like being able to look at boxes on the shelf.

Yes Tony I love a good rummage and a fondle of the boxes. Chatting with the proprietor and abit of bartering of course. Was running an errand for someone today and I just couldn't drive past one of the LMS. I've no will power you see and couldn't leave with nothing under my arm.Not a massive saving but £2 cheaper than his nearest main rival.
