I bought this kit off EBay about 2 yrs ago and this kit brings back a lot of memories to me. I think it was Christmas of 1979 Mom and Dad got this kit for me and my brother Bill got me the GMC General the same Christmas I have a pic of them some where that my mom took of them when I finished them. They were my first model trucks. That was 40yrs ago so I thought I would build one for the Anniversary of this first model truck I got. I will be adding some spoke wheels and a tarp and a headache rack to this build. Hope you will follow along.

Lee, I've been a Chevy man all my life, ever since I got rid of my first car which was a Ford. Will watch this develop as you seem to have a pretty good start already. Rick H.

Rick thanks Chevy is one of my favorite also

Ian. Thanks for stopping by and the complement hope to get more done Iran out of silver paint to paint the tool box and the headache rack that goes behind the sleeper maybe this weekend

Nice job Lee, a question for you. Do you find the snap together models build OK? Reason I ask is I was looking at a 1/24 farm tractor for a future project I have in mind. Keep up the good work.

Andy.

Thanks for the complement I’ve built both I like both equally it’s just that the older 1/25 truck molds like from AMT are wearing out and have lots of fit issues plus I can hook a trailer to these 1/32 trucks and still have room. I’ve built 1/25 for over 35yrs and I’m kinda getting burned out on them. If you like a 1/24 farm tractor to build do it these new ones there coming out with are very nice. But I like all scales of trucks but 1/32 are very close to my heart because they were my first truck models in the late 70s early 80s I thought now I can build trucks like my big brother. It all about satisfaction

Another great truck to get the juices flowing. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together

Been working on this build a little lately. Every thing is done but the Exhaust Stacks. I don’t like the kit ones so I’m going add some when I find the right ones I like. Oh by the way this kit is going to be re-lease this fall 6C9B5C9B-F909-46B3-A37D-AFAC3437F018.jpeg7D796F51-EA59-4EC7-BF59-16579C8BC08E.jpeg6F287DAE-073F-40DF-AF8E-B347E6A57524.jpeg65CA9712-60BF-457B-AD2D-A3C0D85CF2BC.jpeg64FEE6AE-2CB1-48B4-A84E-36299577EB1C.jpeg7F42A1E1-07C9-4D16-9915-FD4D80151565.jpeg52B81F66-6E46-43AB-B02B-20B060E21D98.jpegBD65D7D0-32E5-4D38-A0F0-AAAF6AEE5302.jpegB49C380B-66C3-40E4-9ADC-8C953921052B.jpeg692C7509-2869-485D-B2C5-A92F0DC13D1F.jpegA8F578A0-0F66-4FD4-821F-D6B484CA1213.jpeg

That looks great Lee. There is something about these American trucks. There is something romantic about them, probably due in large part to C&W singers like Boxcar Willie.

Wow Lee that’s an impressive looking truck. The paint job looks brilliant. After building one recently it’s really got me wanting another go but already got a big project on after the current Mosquito gb
