Lee Drennen’s Hobby Farm & Garden

Hi Lee
Nothing like Fresh eggs and veggies. Just picked these this evening and gathered the eggs
Now that will taste good.
Goats are great. We had a mate in Scotland who kept a few small goats. Really pretty and friendly and clever. We occasionally buy goat meat from a local market. Expensive and rather like a mature lamb - like mutton I suppose. I do like goats cheese.
Like john said I enjoy your updates.

Well today is the first day of Autumn on the Hobby Farm. It’s a bitter sweet time finally the hot humid weather is just about over but the garden is dying in or more fresh vegetables. This is the last of my Tomatoes from the garden. As I went for my daily walk after work I stopped and took a picture of a Flower called Golden Rod. When I see this and the Persimmons start to fall. Well Garden season is over for me I’m satisfied with the yield I got from it this year. Time to clear it off and till it and wait for spring

Monica. Thanks I enjoy raising them been doing it for over 25 years now.

Good looking chooks Lee. We’ve just taken on four ex battery hens to give them a decent retirement. Fascinating creatures that were quite stressed when they came to us, but with more space and a decent run they’ve relaxed with us really quickly.

Nice pics. Lee. Keep a close eye on those chickens....I understand 570 has employed ldu and the boys to reroof his Church. He's been paying them with fried chicken from a certain southern fast food chain.....if you get my drift.:rolling:

Took this pic the other day while walking around the barn lot. I feel so blessed to have this place I can enjoy the beauty in these troubled times. I really miss Simon here on the forum as most of you do some days I can’t believe he’s gone so on those kind of days I really appreciate what God has blessed me with to comfort me. Sorry guys for thinking out loud. 7F1F0F93-3564-44F5-B6A6-861BB877F863.jpeg

Same here Lee, when I look around and take in all the natural beauty of the wide open spaces here in Montana, I am so glad I ended up here away from the hectic and oppressive life on the San Francisco peninsula.......... Almost Heavenly.

Hi Lee
Fully understand the peace and chance to think when away from the crowds. Natural beauty is all around us if we just open our eyes.
Chickens are great. We have kept them in the past and they are interesting creatures. Your own eggs are a real treat.
Jim

Lee, lovely pictures and remembering Simon. Once in a while we need to stop and smell the roses...for me it's the Hibiscus or Lotus....basically SWMBO likes greens and not good with flowering plants.

On my hikes up the hill I get to refresh at these spots...I saved you from witnessing seven topless aged guys splashing away like school kids.
