Hi John

Hope all is well sorry I've not commented on this before.

That is coming on very nicely indeed.

Missed you at the model show. How's your chest? All recovered I hope.

Yes thanks Andrew ,better now.
Thanks for looking in
Looking for some of that Acrylic putty Nightshift uses , any ideas ?

John, I remember looking around for something similar a while back. The nearest I could find was foam putty from the 4d model shop you once suggested to me.

I never got around to buying any but it does seem quite similar watching their video.

What ho Wobble,
Good to see you hard at it and not lazing the day away watching day time tv and getting corrupted by all those irrelevant talk shows, so when are we going to see you on Tipping Point?????
Catching up on your build again, you are truly a master of the dark art of brick scribing, I tried it a few times and finished up with scrap foam all over the floor, at least the mice got some free insulation for their winter nest...
Cheers
Wibble

Hi John

That's it Andy, I sent them an email on Saturday, hoping they have a uk stockist , other wise its the customs and post office route.

Thank you Wibble, PM sent

The name, BTW, means “ultralight modelling putty”. Apparently it’s water-based and adheres best to hard foam, wood and polystyrene, according to the text on the tub in the photo you posted.

Thanks Jakko!

I had a tub some time back and the consistency was a cross between whipped cream and soggy Dove soap by Ponds. Didn't know it could be used on foam and failed at puttying walls as it wasn't strong and could still be pushed in just like foam. I might still have it somewhere in my tool box and it's an American brand I think. Will experiment.

Cheers,
Wabble

Let me know how you get on John!
Will do Andrew . Think that Andy has found what I want.

https://modelshop.co.uk/Shop/Item/Filler-Foam-Putty-473ml/ITM8143

Thats the one I saw John.

Not sure if it's the same, or any better than regular filler though
Perfection, how come I looked and couldn't find it ( don't answer :smiling: )
Think with it being a foam type it looks very much like the stuff NS used. Think I'll have a punt and risk it . Using powdered filler is a messy way and it leaves a thin layer that you have to repeatedly wipe with a damp cloth. Appreciate you showing it Andy.:thumb2:

Not happy with the building, or the layout, so going to start again . I'll put some photos up tomorrow showing what I've done. Want to have something different from my normal layout . The trouble is the size only allows a certain look . Pondering time .

Some photos to show why I want to start again. Basically the length is wrong, the M10 is far too near the ambush , firing any Panzerfaust at that close range would surely end up killing the those firing .

Pleased with the M10 and those troops .IMG_20231017_183007829.jpg
Tomorrow will start the longer base
Thanks for looking in
John

Shame John but that's how things go sometimes. It's not worth continuing with something that you know is not right. Deep breath and start again. The standard of your previous dios means only "excellent" will do.

As Jim says it’s a shame, the groundwork and building was really coming on Nicely too!

Hopefully you can salvage most of what’s been done and get it as you want it.
