Thank you for your kind comments guys and yes the finger is good...got that piece out and quite a big chunk that wasn't going anywhere but out.

Here's the final line up of the troop before going to primer and zenithel. At this scale I thought of not going ga ga over the fur as the macaques here are short haired and smooth to the eye.
First up the family of three...

Then it's rounding up the big guns...

These next three are vying for the World Series and NBA...

Then you have a sniper team with a south paw shooter and a spotter...

And you have to finish off the team with the swingers...

...holes drilled to receive hanging vines.

Total 14 including the baby. Gonna have a heck of a time painting them.
Thanks for following all this time.

These guys will certainly generate a lot of interest when situated on the Dio. Richard.......looking the bomb sir. :thumb2:

Thanks guys, I think some still need bulking up which is much easier to do then while covering the armatures. You can see the different hues of putty mixtures applied.

Ooh guess what I found at the local stationery shop...monkeys after all that scratching...

Just kidding...they're back from the spray cave downstairs after primer and basic colors. I was lazy to blend so used the airbrush for the three tone color scheme. They will get individual attention with hand painting. The snouts will be a little pinkish and around the eyes as well. Eyes are yellow with black rimmed eyelids probably applied one dot over the other. I'll add more dark fur along the spine and top of head. Black paws and feet. I'll paint the mouth interior with dark pink and then only add fangs from Magic Sculpt...they would be the right dirty ivory color.
That's what I think but doing it is another matter. :smiling6:

Lovely bunch of Primates there Richard......just lying in the dish, they look like they are up to all kinds of "mischief" :tongue-out3: :tongue-out2: ;) :thumb2:

Good thing their inert Rick or I'd be busy catching them to paint. :smiling6:

I got a "Chuckle" out of that Richard, sort of like trying to paint a handful of worms! :tears-of-joy:

Richard,
love them mate and I don't think I have ever seen monkeys in a dio before.
There are Scottie, mostly depicted guarding temples or statues. Mine are just miffed that the truck is between them and the banana trees opposite which I've yet to add.

Prima, prima, prima O King of the Jungle!
Steve
Yep, he’s king of the swingers alright…..definitely a jungle VIP….
"I wanna walk like you...talk like you..." I like the way they shoot the bananas out like pistols but technically the pistol grip end is where it ought to burst out and not the tip end. Probably all get mushed up into puree.

Superb Wabble
I'am another who never seen Monkeys in a dio before.
Thanks John R, I think there was one dio with monkeys in the old Euromilitaire. The huge dio probably dwarfed them.

Anyway as I was about to paint the pesky fellas I realised from watching youtube of travellers at the famous Batu Caves that our local macaques have beards around their chin and their coloring is different from other macaques. So here are some with beards added...

I've also added a little blob of putty to the tail ends as they have lion like tail ends.

Your talented Wabble. Brilliant observation seeing the youtube story.

Thanks Neil and John R,
Here's the size comparison with my thumb and these are the big guys...they're about an inch in diameter.

There is always room for improvement and the most unlikely places for referencing.
