Nearly there - 'dry fit' to see if I've missed anything obvious and to make sure that the figures will 'fit' (had to build under one foot so far, and need to slightly move the 'lower lookout', as he's 'talking' to mid-air!), need to raid the garden for some 'vegetation', and get a few other bits and pieces done (tarps, bucket, cooking pots, slings etc.)

Thanks Tim, still waiting for the pin vice to arrive so that I can get on with the other bits and pieces that need drilling (not good using the drill in-between fingers!)

Really pushing myself out of my previous experiences of dioramas (the base wasn't too bad, as I'd done something similar years ago, but without the water feature!)
At the moment, having great fun trying to do the 7 slings for the guns using thin foil, not sure if that's a good thing or if I should have gone for paper, as cutting .75mm strips isn't going too well! :thinking: Also working on some pots and pans, hopefully they'll turn out OK. Haven't even started on the tarpaulins yet.

Thanks Andrew, not too much left to do, (still waiting for the pin vice) want/need a tree/bush in near the fire (only really to support the smoke, as it won't stand up on its own - despite having enough hairspray on it to hold a beehive!), bits that are on 'hold' until the pin vice turns up are the bucket (nicely dented), pots (which are getting 'fire blackened') and the remainder of the water, as I've got to get the level to the bucket (so toss-up between varnish and clear silicon).

Know what you mean about the old canvas lorry tarps - heavy, coarse, jump on them to fold them up, but they'd keep the weather out and withstand more abuse than they should ever have!

Thanks Scottie - just spent the last 20 minutes plaiting button thread for the tie ropes for it (cotton was too thin, so went with the slightly thicker button thread) - should have used 3 different colours, at least I'd have known which was which!
Lovely work there Gerry and I like the tarp too.

Thanks Andrew. I will be giving credit to a lot of people on here for supplying their ideas and tips for this build as the tarp is the 'spectacle cleaning cloth' version.
