Hello There

Well its been a very long time since I was here, a lot of things have occurred in 2011, all for the good thankfully.

So my main reason for not been about or modelling is I started my own classic car auto spray business, got very tired of working on body damage cars and well classic cars have been in the blood for many years.

So I had a special garage built on some spare land at home, so had to set that up and register myself as self employed, and also get the equipment.

There has been so much to do and set up, the days and months just faded, never set up my own business so it was a learning curve.

But now business is steady away, cant bite off to much as Im a one man band, but the orders are there and thats keeping me busy, but now I have got all the hard work out of the way I can now start to have some time to myself, and go back to my second love, which is modelling, at the moment I have a Triumph Stag,Jaguar XJS and a 1968 Bentley in the shop.

So its time to catch up with you creative guys work and get some relax time of my own and model.....

Hope to see some new and familar faces along the way.

Ray

Cheers Ian, Im happy so far, just got to learn not to accept every job that comes my way, I think it would be so easy to over book myself...

Welcome back Ray. Just a quickie. Are those in your real shop or your model shop? Either way, sounds like a nice collection!

Cheers tony and Gern, the cars are real mate, they will be tough jobs as they are not in very good condition, and the Bentley has a rather nice story behind it, the guy who owned it from new died many years back and its his sons who found it again....it was been used as a wedding car, then got barned away for nearly 9 years...so it will be going back to Bentley Ice White.

Welcome back Ray

Set up my own design business last year so I know exactly what you've been through. Glad to hear the business is off to a good start and you're keeping busy. After a brief a slack period now things are a bit crazy so steady away sounds good! The classic cars sound interesting to work on but I'm glad you're back with us to work on smaller projects.

Look forward to your future input.

Paul

Good to see your still around Ray, I know what you mean about months fading away since I started my little venture I've had little time to do anything else, but it will all be worth it in the end.

Many thanks Paul,John,Marcos,Scott and Trey, Thanks for the concern Trey, I had so many intentions early on to get back here and inform you all of what was going on, but time just melted away.

I hope to be able to catch up with all what you guys have been doing over the next few days, I have missed seeing all your work, I always get inspiration from here.

I also need to take a look at my stash and sort them out, To break myself back in I think I will do a few figures, to get the paint skills brushed up on, then get back into some of my already started projects. Also looking forward to having a look around the shop, I bet John has added so much to it, I will be like a child in a sweet shop.......

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome, it is really appreciated.

Ray

Good to have you back amongst us again Ray.

Best of luck with your new business.

I've been working on my own since 1970 and the two things I found invaluable were loads of self discipline (No sneaking off model building) and don't get twitchy when the phone stops ringing for a while! It's all part of the game.

Cheers,

Ron
