I know some of you guys have huge stashes just waiting to be built, well my stash has just the reached the heady hieghts of....3. I have a Bristol Blenheim Mk 1v 1/72, an Opel Blitz & pak 40 gun 1/72, & just waiting for a German Kubelwagen type 82 1/35. Will be posting pics as they get built. :)

You go steady you don't get a nose bleed with that height of your stash :D :P

Lee :)

A stash will rob you of cash in a flash.

Can't wait to see them:)

so true a word Robert, thats why i dont go into my local hobby shop, plus no time or money,

i have so meany things stashed away hear and there and you always see some think else you must have  :D

I only got back into plastic kits Christmas and since then my stash is at 12. I have a birthday next month then there's Christmas and if I get all I've hinted at that will double (and there's some biggies in there 1/350 Warspite to mention just one)

You need to slow down with the stash building, before you know it you won`t be able to close the door:rolleyes:

Stop Stop Stop. Three is more than enough. I've reached the very uncomfortable number of seven and wondering if I'll ever get them all built. I know, many will read this post and laugh their socks off at my pathetic seven.

The trouble is there are so many nice models out there at the moment. Conversely there are a lot of models I remember building years ago that are no longer available (so come up on ebay for stupid money) Bandi Pendle princess, Tamiya 1/6 midnight special, loads of the 1/25 24 custom cars for instance monogram I think it was cherry bomb.

3!!!!!!!! Sounds like early stages of OKB (obsessive kit buying) to me. That's how I started off just 3 then it totally got out of hand!I was always after the next fix(model) I have over 100 now but I went and got some professional help and have now cut down on the habit but still have the odd binge now and then but it's nice to have a choice. Joking aside it's up to the individual on how many kits you want need or buy some would be more than happy with 3 or 300 I still buy them now if I see something I fancy and especially ii it's a bargin so party on and let's see how many you have this time next year regards John

This is where it starts..... today three, tomorrow four, in a year dozens and then, hundreds. Models seem to breed like rabbits...

Mind you - I do only have 8 myself at the moment exerting massive self control - but they are all large scale.....

I 've got mine down to two models. A Revell 1/32 Spitfire Mk II (bits on the way from Barracuda Studios to convert to a Mk I) and a Tamiya 1/32 P-51 (still contemplating some after market decals for this). One of these is next up, so it is entirely possible that my 'stash' will be reduced to zero in the foreseeable future.

Cheers

Steve

Mine is currently at seven. Just about to start on the 1/32 scale Tamiya Birdcage Corsair. I also have the 1/24 scale Airfix Typhoon on order:)

currently stands at 122....with another couple via ebay on the way....used to be more but i made a conscious decision to only buy something if it was something i really needed or was an absolute bargain

i took up this lark again in 2006.....i went on a bit of a spree buying stuff.....ive got kits that i bought back then still in the stash, and i have every intention of building them once i master the tricks i need to do them justice

i lso get preiods of unemployment so when im working i buy kits and paint and supplies, then when im out of work and cant afford to buy stuff i have a selection to pick from (or even sell if need be to make some cash)

My view on stashes has changes over the years. I'm of the opinion now that they're a fairly stupid idea - and this is from a guy that has over 300 kits! (that sum includes figures as well)

I'm now working on the assumption that if I complete, say, 6 a year for the rest of my life I will still not complete them all. They also become outdated as newer more detailed kits become available and they obviously take up a lot of space. The one upside is that some kits become incredibly rare (take the 1/35 landing Craft Assault I had in my collection) but generally these are the exception to the rule.

Don't want to be down on anybody's collection or enthusiasm for the hobby (far from it) but just wanted to air a reality check.

Cheers

Aaargh, I envy your Tamiya Corsair couldn't find it everywhere :(

Ive got around 40 kits.Although that's mainly because I bought 30 for not much money off the wife of a work mate who died last year.Even with that many it's taken me a couple of weeks to decide what to build next!.

The good news is that in November Tamiya are bring out a later version of the aircraft...

I have my 'birdcage' so I will give this next release a pass (at least for now) but if I were you I would snap it up....
