Oh no not the dreaded sprue trick Paul, are you hoping I'll set fire to the bench ! :smiling::smiling::smiling:.
A good point really as I have some clear sprue with some headlight covers on, I'll have look and see. :thumb2::thumb2:

Having just ordered this from John @SMS I was thinking about how to build the diorama, if I remember right there is a term used when this appears to be in a room.
I remember John aka Wotan doing something like this with the Girl with a Pearl earing.
Any idea would be welcome as to the name, and any information.

John, certainly not, I'm grateful, I seem to remember you doing one a few years ago on MM , was It the Girl with the Peal Earring ? Didn't you also do one of a barn.
Luckily I was sent a pdf file of Shep Payne's book , last night I found his very informative section on the box, will take another couple of reads to take it in fully. Many thanks.

Evening Pete, hazarding a guess I would think you are right, its the same type of thing to me. Just found this on the webb.

I think forced perspective is the art of using smaller scale models at the rear of a diorama to make the back look further away than it actually is. I’ve seen some excellent railway models using this idea.

On a visit to Italy many years ago we visited an old monastery which it was possible to have a look around. It had one room painted in forced perspective decor that really messed with your head. The room was rectangular but the decoration made it look oval in form. The illusion worked when you kept your head still, but when you moved all the walls seemed to swell and shrink!

I think he did the Vietnam memorial wall box diorama and it’s shown in that book. It’s pure genius! There is a veteran deep in thought looking at the names. However, when a button is pushed to turn on the internal illumination the wall becomes translucent, showing the lost comrades the veteran is thinking of.
