Neil's 1/32 WWI Nurse

I'm pleased to say that I've painted Fanny's face, and it's come out rather better than I had dared hope

I've started on the dreaded white bits (not THOSE white bits :rolling: ) as well, and I'm happy with them too. Now you can see that the primer is actually grey (Vallejo) and not white.
I'm using Peter Day's approach of working from the top down to avoid leaving finger marks or rubbing the paint off.
I must say I had thought about removing the head to make it easier to paint but I decided to just crack on. I kind of wish I had done it now because I found painting the definition between neck and collar very tricky- it would not have been a problem if they were separate.
Note to self....
Cheers
Neil

PS just in case some of you have not joined the dots, there was also a unit called the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry...or FANY

That looks very good indeed - great job.
Have you considered including a bottle of paint in a pic, for scale? You'll boost levels of appreciation for sure!

Agreed…she is only a bit bigger than a Vallejo bottle after all……

Lovely stuff,.....
..... I'd certainly take my medicine if  SHE was the one telling me to!! ;)

Dear Mr. Merryweather,

There is absolutely no reason to doubt your painting skills Sir. I, and the members of this fine forum, have seen your work and we all agree it's very good and the finished product is even better!!! Can you say 'Fuselages', or whatever they're called...They are fantastic Neil...You should be very proud of your work!!! Thank you for your understanding and carry on, Sir........

Prost

Whenever I see this thread I'm reminded of one of my aunts, who served as a nurse in WW1. She was asked to Return during WW2, but refused, saying she still had nightmares about some of the injuries she'd seen in WW1.

You've every reason to be pleased. If I could paint a face half as well I'd be b****y ecstatic!

Looking good Neil :thumb2:
Women faces can be hard to paint, well done

Coming on very nicely, Neil. I thought you said you can't paint? ;) :smiling:.
John.
