Neil's 1-35 Liberty Ship Diorama

Glad to see this again. Really admire your ability to adapt/alter the figures. This is certainly up there with the best dios I've seen.

Sometimes I kid myself and I start to think that I'm not too bad at this modelling lark, but then someone comes along with something like this, and then I realise that actually I'm just a bloody amateur!!! Lol, Amazing build and detail.....

Stunning work as always neil , its a mind blowing job youre doing . Great reworking of the figures , although at the moment the driver looks like Bender from Futurama !
Keep at it , its going to look superb . Cheers tony

Thanks everyone.
So I had given this guy a nice Hornet smiling face
IMG_20260806_204146168_HDR.webp
But what is he smiling at? My original idea was somebody in trouble on the cargo net, but you can’t really see the smile with his face turned away, so I turned his head and gave him an unfortunate GI who doesn’t have his sea legs
IMG_20260811_103657235_HDR.webp
Then I thought of the others with the the same problem ,what if he’s knocked over by the guy behind him?
IMG_20260812_100259387_HDR.webp
So now I’m on a roll, and I’ve always intended this Tamiya guy to be holding on to the landing craft side
IMG_20260812_100423715.webp
But he’s holding on with his left hand so he has to either face away from us or go on the port side
IMG_20260812_100913825_HDR.webp
But I wanted someone behind our second GI who’s managed to hold on in time, so I found another suitable pair of legs and a shouty Hornet head and came up with this
IMG_20260812_100522916_HDR.webp
And so we now have a nice little incident

I’m not going to put too many more figures in the landing craft because they will obscure all my hard work on the detritus and weathering
Then I moved the Coast Guard out of the way to open up the composition a bit, and which also shows off his smile better

So now it’s time break out the MagicSculpt, and I've got eight more figures to paint - and after such a long lay-off I'm up for it!
