1/9 scale resin bust.

Finished with Humbrol enamels and oils.

Tim, it was terrible, I redid them countless times...they were a pain in the ....:smiling3: Luckily oils are very forgiving.

OK Guy, just how do you do that flesh work? Love it.

I start colouring the bust with enamel colours. I paintbrush on two layers of paint and let them cure for 24 hours. I then continue painting with oils.
For the flesh colours I have on my palette :
-flaked white,
- yellow ocre,
- burnt sienna,
- ultramarine blue,
- burnt umber,
- flesh ocre.
I start from medium shades and build up darker and lighter shades over different stages.
I never thin my oils, they're pure paint when I apply these. I remove the excess with a fine, soft brush (colours get blended smoothly while removing them).
After each session I let cure overnight and sometimes two days.

When I'll paint another bust, I'll write down each step with photos added to them.

you have more time with oils,than the these,so its not so much of a race to work,
do you use cardboard to leach out some of the oil,or just straight

Thank you friends. This one was just incredibly sculpted, there was not one single flaw in it ! The bust looks 100% Mr. Churchill. It came with two heads, a complete head and a half head to be completed with an MKII helmet or a hat.
