This is going to be interesting I’m glad your doing something very different I'm along for the ride Nick. Front row please

Brilliant choice of subject nick, and i love to see an oldie get dragged into the 21st century ! The cannons should be reasonably easy to scratch , ive used brass tubing , copper wire for the barrel and springs and stretched plastic tubing ( actually cotton bud stem , back when they were plastic ) for the shrouds . Heres a link to mine if it helps https://www.scale-models.co.uk/thre...g-under-construction.13230/page-3#post-127394
Cheers tony

Nice one Nick :thumb2:

Interesting colour scheme, was the idea to incapacitate opposing pilots by giving them a migraine?

Geoff.

A golden oldie brought up to date. Their idea of decals for the camo would never work :rolling: I like the way they say " do not attempt to finish the project in one night"

Looks a fun little project Nick.
Don't forget to post the sprue shots befor you start.

Looking forward to seeing this Nick,
I can remember building this very same Mustang when it was re-released under the NOVO brand many many many years ago..(Christ !! I'm old)

Hi fellow P51ers lol
Imma still in, had 5 days working in Lundun town then came back to base and finally the 'rona got me......7 days of blurrrgggg!!!!!!! still only getting taste back a week later..... but things have arrived, and been fabricated.....
Arrivals, 2x SR920W 1.5v watch batteries....
Then the base, i decided i couldn't secreet the wiring and batteries in the Frog stand, so i got a wenge wood base, drilled through the top 3/4s through, then from the 'back' i piloted a hole inline with first vertical hole, then i progressively drilled out hole to 0.30mm larger than battery diameter. This will be the base and power source.

I've yet to workout the hows and whys of these batteries and wiring ..... but i know a watch repairer who may help lol.
Now to take the power tp the P51As drone motor, i chose 3.2mm copper tube, from a fridge evapourator system, as i work with all commercial Catering equipment these days many new things are to hand lol......
My plan, use copper tube for one polarity, thread insulated wire through for other polarity..... he he, it's going to be mounted half way into underside of port wing, running cabling into fuselage under cockpit if i build one then into nose and motor.
20220915_195355.jpg
Now I'll paint it black when done, i could use copper tube as a battery contact in hole with wire to connect to oppo pole of battery/ies stack......
I will ponder

Well, well it's gonna have whizzy round bits. Makes it even more interesting. That's a clever wiring plan - should work a treat.
