For the first time in nearly two years - we had a visit from the ice-cream van! Playing a rather odd choice of music " The Good, the Bad & the Ugly" ! ( I seem to remember the last time it was " The sun has got his hat on" )

Well, who doesn’t like a good shootout while eating ice cream?

It was Glasgow that had the Ice Cream wars I believe

one of our cats stares out the window at the ice cream van and growls when she hears the chimes lol

Strangely the ice cream van has been around here for weeks with his ear shattering tune. How he's got away with it I don't know.

We have also heard the ice-cream van recently. Not seen or heard one since we moved here 5 years ago.

Ours plays the bl---y annoying 'Boys and Girls come out to play!' Oh for an RPG!

As a child growing up ours played the 1916 Columbia recording of "Nigger Love a Watermelon Ha! Ha! Ha"!
Times have certainly changed........and for the better I might add. Rick H.

How many people can remember these?

They were common sights on seaside promenades - I remember them at Scarborough, Bridlington, Boscombe and Bournemouth - along with the annoying beach photographers! ( early 60's! )

We have someone uses a modern version to sell ice-cream from on our local stretch of the Grand Union Canal.

Notice no cones on sale from the bike Dave. My Gran would approve as she only ever had an ice cream brick where she could. She didnt like cones for some reason....I always thought they were messy!
They disappeared around Salisbury in the early seventies, so she used to moan a lot after that, but then eat a ninety nine cone LOL.

Not really here as it's getting worst and managed badly. Staying home with the new lockdown. We have the highest per capita for new cases in the world now. Not a way to be number one and ashamed.

Richard.

what's the vaccination situation there, Richard?
Confusing and riddled with conspiracies, delays, trust issues that we have to visually see the contents of the vial administered properlly even with the right amount. But thats what I only hear.
My first dose will be this June 21st.

Cheers,
Richard

oh dear- good luck

Hope it improves mate. The contents are visually checked here as well, but it’s done by the medical professionals administering the dose. Second checking is a standard quality control tool in the production of pharmaceuticals, so it seems fair that it’s done during use.
