Officer of the 95th - a 75mm sculpt by Moz Corry

Looking good. I've got the utmost respect for anyone who can do figures. I wouldn't know where to start.

Thanks Andrew. I blame my catholic upbringing - it's a form of cathartic penitence! :smiling5:

Hi Alex
Looks a great sculpt and I like to see these colourful figures painted. I'll watch with interest. Off to a fine start.

This one is coming along a lot quicker than I expected, not far off being finished. Though as always I have been putting off the bit I dread - the face. I can't delay the inevitable for ever so I'd better man up and crack on!

I was out all day yesterday driving a safety vehicle for the the Weymouth Ironman (lunatics the lot of 'em) so didn't really get any painting done. However I wasn't happy with the green trousers so re-did them grey last night. I think the contrast is much better. They need shading yet, then it's time to tackle the face and hands!

Thanks Peter. It's definitely an improvement. I don't know why, but despite it being in the dress regulations green trousers on a Rifles officer just don't look right!

Getting there! Did his face last night. I used enamels for this as they're easier to blend, the rest of him is done in acrylics apart from the leather reinforcement on his trousers. Just his hands and the base to go now.

Morning all. I reckon this chap's done now though he needs a decent plinth. I'll probably add some grass to the groundwork too. He's mostly painted with acrylics - the jacket and pelisse are a mix of Vallejo 970 deep green mixed with varying amounts of black which gives a good Rifle Green. I added a touch of 815 basic fleshtone for highlights. Braid was painted black then highlighted with Revell anthracite. The fur trim is Humbrol 186 brown, drybrushed with 62 leather brown then given a wash of black. His sash is Humbrol British Crimson highlighted with Vallejo 926 red. His face and hands are done with enamels, I made a basic mix of crimson, leather brown and flesh, then added more flesh and some white for the highlights, and chocolate brown for the deep shadows.

Nice, very nice. Hopefully work commitments will allow us to see some more of your work sooner rather than later. Thanks for sharing Windy
