That looks like a dinky little kit Ian, look forward to see what you do with this one... solitary piece or in a diorama????

Nice choice Ian. That thing must be pretty tiny in that scale.

lol. Good luck with the rigging.Ian M
oh yeah the rigging, seems we'll get another chance to see "patience of a saint Ian" at work :) :)

Good choice ian, not the easiest of ww1 subjects either! looking forward to the build , cheers tony

I'm sure it will build into a fantastic, detailed (if diminutive) model. It is definitely one of the more complex aircraft of the Great War. Looking forward to the progress.

Nice choice Ian. I fancied this plane, but there's a lot of rigging there. Good luck.

That's shocking! You can hardly see where the flash ends & the part begins!

Good luck Ian, you're gonna need it!

Cheers

Patrick

wow!!! rather you than me mate ....... and i moan about Airfix ....... i shall refrain from such after seeing this :)

Pegasus are a low out put/limited production company. So if you are expecting clean and tidy, you picked the wrong kit Ian.

In short the "master" is scratch built and the 'sprue' is normally wax rod 'welded to the parts with more wax. These are then used to make a silicon mould into which the hot plastic mass is manually pumped into the mould.

Not enough pressure and the parts do not fill out, to much and the actual mould parts and you get loads of flash.

Some of these kits are pretty good. Others not so good. I am just getting over a Blue Max Avro 504. Though not as bad as your, it was still a challenge.

Take comfort in the fact that these type of kits are made be rivet counters (more often than not) so they have the right size and shape.

Hi Ian I didn't expect Tamiya but i didn't expect it to be that bad

So ok it's a bit of a beast. However the satisfaction to be gained put of taming such a kit immense. (I'm just glad it's not my build)

Hi Ian

Stick with it I'm sure you'll win through. Believe it or not I've seen and built worse. Limited run kits or kits by smaller companies tend to be a bit more of a challenge. The progress you've made looks very clean and precise.

Good stuff
