This is going to be my next build, I got the kit from Ron ( Spanner 570 ) some time ago. Not sure what scheme to go for, I’ll decide on that when I get to the painting stage. It will be an OOB build.

I have often looked at this one so I will be looking in from time to time to see if I might be tempted to get one

I wondered what happened to this......Have you been treading on the box!

Good luck with the build, Ian.

Is that the dark green almost brittle plastic it's moulded in? I find Tamiya Extra thin really struggles with it and I have to use EMA Plastic Weld which I think is a bit 'hotter'.

Yes Dave, thanks for the heads up with the glue.

Blimey,i`ve got this exact same kit in my Garage Stash,(Box is too big for my Office Stash),
Totally agree about the brittle plastic, and the details are quite limited, however,if you`re not TOO worried about a critically acclaimed result,i reckon this is a great specimen.....
.... Crack on Ian,i`m looking forward to following this one:thumb2:.

Thanks for looking in guys, plenty of tea and coffee available, also Tunnocks caramel wafers ( Ron’s favourite).
Made a start on this, the cockpit parts built and ready for painting.

All painted and glued together, and decals on the cockpit parts.

Did someone say Tunnocks ?!! I’m in!
Regardless of biscuit bribes I’m always a keen watcher of Ians builds , great start mate , cheers tony

Not many aeroplanes more famous than Memphis Belle. Interesting about the plastic. I like that EMA Plastic Weld.
I agree with Peter. That's a fine job you've done on that cockpit.

I like how they provide both red and blue wheel hub decals for Memphis Belle, that's a point of controversy for some. Off to a good start Ian

Cheers Joe, I was looking on line about the B17 and Memphis Belle, and saw a scheme that really caught my eye. So Memphis Belle is out. But you’ll have to wait for the painting stage to find out.

Done a little more work to this, got the wings put together, it says to fit the wheels before you put them together, but I’m sure I can fit them after. Also started re scribing the panel lines.

Ian

That cockpit is looking the business. Great work indeed.

Very well done.

Andrew

Great progress Ian , re scribing looks good . Interested to see the scheme , glad you found something different , Memphis belle has been a bit overdone over the years plus its not a particularly interesting scheme , theres far better out there , cheers tony
