Quick update now the marine is just about done. 12 horses put on to bases and some texture added, this will get covered over later but helps disguise the attached base. The stuff I use is a citadel technical and is great for miniature bases, looks like textured mud but spreads really nice and sets hard. A little goes a long way.

Interesting. Not heard of this ground 'stuff'... Might have look it up at some point
 
Excellent work, Mick. Far smaller than my usual scale (75mm). My eyes couldn't stand it.
