i bought this off spanner (Ron) it's a classic kit from 71 the box says its a MkI but the kit is trying (desperately) to be a MKIIc , there's aspect of both in the kit and the instructions tell you how to alter it so its a MkI but I decided to build it as a IIC (I think)

The kit went together very well surprisingly and all the pieces were there to build the RAF North Africa version

Things wrong with plane, the canopy is dreadfully wrong it's too rounded , the rotol propeller is too fat and rounded and the cockpit is too long this cockpit is only just short of the 1/24 scale hurricane

Canopy frame is none existent

The exhausts stick out too far and are spaced too far apart

Things right with the plane

It has the best spinner cap I've ever seen on a model, re that's it really

I think I've gone a little bit over the top with the weathering! I don't think any hurricane would come back in this state lol

Thanks to Steve ( stona) for supplying the under wing and fuselage decals I'm very grateful mate

Whilst I agree that it's slightly over-weathered Alan, it's still a lovely build.

I do think the Hurricane was a marvellous aircraft & you certainly capture the essence of that 'no nonsense ' look.

Nice one Al, weathering is subjective to the builder, in this case she has seen a lot of action.

Cheers guys , on the weathering I'm using the excuse that there on water rations so they can't clean it :D

Great job Alan , even with its flaws it still looks every inch a hurricane. I must admit ive got a soft spot for this particular kit though- it was the first ever 1/32 model i did as a nipper , and i loved it . Maybe the too rounded canopy is just because it was designed to slide open , most of these older Revell biggies had some working features , I remember the Spitfire had retractable undercarriage as well! cheers tony

Cheers tony , this does have the sliding canopy , I would imagine this would have been classed as a good kit back then , the size the detail, and how well it goes together I'd say this goes together just as well as a tamiya or new tool airfix kit , I liked building this and it was nice to do and old kit in this size because there aren't many of these types about now :)

I like this a lot, the paint scheme is very nice and personally I think the weathering is spot on.
