Hi again,
Another kit built about the same time as the Horsa, Stirling and BF109. The interior, wheel wells and flaps were where I concentrated on. The markings are for a Typhoon flown by Henry Talalla, one of two brothers from the then Malaya who flew in the RAF in WW2. Sadly he was killed in action over Falaise on 25 July 1944.

The build blog will be up when I find the time to re-write it all over again.

Cheers,
Richard

Nice build Richard. I built this kit when it first came out in the early 70's .Its a pity Revell haven't reissued it.

Thanks Dave, perhaps it would have a problem standing up against the Airfix new kit.

Hi John, thanks for joining this group. Sandwiches and tea served whilst waiting for the blog. It'll be where planes are in construction.

That's Cyril getting his DFC being presented to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. You can read more and watch the documentaries on this:

Great work Richard, I too will watch the build thread once it's up and running.

Hi Richard, this is a great piece you produced here! Really love those Typhoons with their nasty 20mm Hispano's. Good job!

Cheers

I recently remasked and repainted the Typhoon with the correct grey and sharper demarkation between the camouflage. Weathering was also enhanced a little and a matt varnish coated on. Enjoy the pictures...

Thanks Scottie, next year our modelling society may be doing a D-Day themed display at Malcom. Although this particular Typhoon isn't wearing the invasion stripes , it will still be a part of the theme having being instrumental with the air to ground attack preceding and from H hour onwards in Normandy.

Cheers,
Richard
