Hi Gary, you mentioned you built this model yourself. Was yours also a revell 1:48?
out of curiosity was the fit of parts good on yours as I’m finding it really quite dreadful.
i follow instructions which in hind site is working out bad for me as you glue say the main wings, e.g. Under part of wing and then when you come to glue top part of wing nothing lines up and gaps everywhere.
this is probably the worse fitting model I’ve made yet and all the filler won’t really improve it. I’m going to have to live with some of the miss aligned parts as unless I pull things apart possibly damaging the model further it’s just going to have to stay as is.
im a little disappointed to be honest.
as I say, in hind site I should of dry fitted and taped everything first so i guess that’s my biggest error but that said I followed instructions so this should not have really occurred.

Sorry Carl not getting notifications for some reason.

The ICM kit was almost a perfect fit for everything but where there were some gaps they were not a huge problem to fill and sand. The perspex front was in three pieces and was a bugger to get right. I wasnt happy and emailed ICM saying could they send a clear sprue so I can redo it. Excellent customer service as the MD wrote back himself and sent the right sprue from Kiev and I've redone it. Still not 100% happy but its OK now. Could have done with some pre cut masks for the clear but its OK

Yours looks great and you've protected the clear very well from glue smears etc

I agree on the front glass, It was kinda oval but not quite the same shape as the fuselage. I had to tape the Various glass bits temporarily to each other and also to the main body to tweak it to the right shape. I then used the thin glue very sparingly which seems to have worked. Any minor misting was pretty much covered by painted frame. This was my first time using eduard masking and I found it great. I did get a small amount of primer under a couple of corners but this co e of afterwards with a wooden cocktail stick. ( trick I read on here somewhere)

Yeah, I was please with the masking, was almost perfect compared to my previous attempts. I will definitely be using these Eduard masks again as it just takes out a lot of hassle doing them by hand which I’ve done for the last 5 models until now.

One thing that I discovered for me is NOT to use Tamiya thin Cement when attaching clear as it runs everywhere and scars the clear plastic. Must remember to stick to my white, turns transparent, Deluxe Materials - Glue 'n' Glaze cement as its water based
