Richards completed Malayan Emergency Diorama

late to join the choir of appraisal as per usual but what a fantastic diorama!!!:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

Richard, this is one of the best dioramas I have seen here or elsewhere and you must be very proud of your efforts...

You managed to ressurect a very old project, evolve the story, make a convincing stretch of jungle (and I know how hard that can be) and THEN you come up with those figures and monkeys.

It has everything - drama, humour, real history.

These shots also show how beautifully and carefully you composed the scene and balanced the colours.

Bravo!

Thanks you so much Tim, I'm a fan of your builds, research in historical scenes and currently like the amount of detail you packed into the shed in your new Dio.

Cheers,

Wow, Masterclass is exactly right, awesome build! You gotta be mighty happy with how this turned out. The eyes could keep moving throughout this dio for hours and still not catch every detail. Can't say enough, this is Top Shelf, Richard, Top Shelf!

Congrats!:thumb2:

I’m a bit late Richard, but fantastic work.
Never late Ian, thank you...most enjoyable two years of build for me and to have it done and shared it here.

Thanks Steve, definitely happy about it. This build had me going at every sub assembly where nearly everything needed some kind of modification or made from scratch. Trying new stuff and ideas was a thrill and frightening at times trying to get the visual in my head into reality was a challenge. I too spend time looking at it from time to time.

Cheers,

It's great that this old thread has been brought back up - otherwise I wouldn't have seen this insanely cool diorama! I love it!

Glad you managed to see this Dio, Andreas and like it as much as I do. Sadly large dioramas like this will be few as I am running out of space and time to make them. They'll be half the size now.

Cheers,
