Rick’s completed 1/72 Airfix Vickers Wellington Ic 75 Sqn (New Zealand) Squadron Aircraft, Royal Air Force Feltwell

Built out of the box with tape seat belts, foil for the landing light lens’ and the Eduard pant mask set. I had a bit of a struggle with this, the fuselage halve weren’t straight; when joined together at the tail one half was banana like curved but with careful clamping it all came together nicely. The bomb aimers screen didn’t want to play and has a crack in it now while one of the landing gear drag braces was miss moulded.
I didn’t bother with much on the interior. Would I build another….?……Yeah, probably.

Beautiful ! I love the Wimpey , its got a workmanlike quality to it , plus the ingenious engineering of barnes wallis makes it a very interesting aircraft. Fantastic paint job rick , cheers tony

Rick,
The whimpy has a special place in my heart. My Dads elder brother was a rear gunner and was killed in Action.

No complaints from me Rick, that's turned out very nicely indeed. I assume it was one of the earlier Airfix Wellingtons given the struggles?

Great job Rick. I've seen SGT J.Ward's logbook and Victoria Cross. Sadly he was lost on operations not long after his act of bravery in this aircraft which saved both the aircraft and the crew.
