Next up on the bench is the veritable Tamyia Sd.Kfz.7/1 flak vierling. A big shout out to Richard for gifting me this kit earlier in the year. As well as the kit he also included in the box the Eduard upgrade set. I have also purchased Defmodels sagged front wheels and fruil's tracks . The box contains 3 grey sprues for the vehicle, 2 sprues to make up the flak 38. The 5 crew members are on one sprue moulded in white. A sheet of plastic mesh, Decals, some poly caps and two metal shafts for the axles. Finally rubber tracks, rubber front tyres which will not be used.

As you would expect from Tamyia it is cleanly moulded but does lack the detail of more recent releases which allows me to play a bit.

I haven't taken pictures of the sprues.

Hope you can join me along the way.

cheers

Deffo will follow along, I have a couple of German half tracks in the stash (1:48 and 1:35) so I might pick up a few tips, watching.... ;)(y)

Sounds cool, will follow.

Its been a long time since I posted anything on here. But I have been tinkering away. The Old Tamyia kit is showing it's age so ripe for a bit of detailing. So starting with the cab. I have added treadplate from PE various controls on the dash have been scratched as well as fuel stop cocks under the dash. The seats have been textured.

I wanted to show a vehicle based in the cold steps of the eastern front

So to that end I have made a radiator cover from greenstuff and some blankets thrown over the bonnet from tissue from a shoe box.

Next on to the gun platform. I have removed all the moulded detail ready for detailing later including tread plate and the hinge points for the side mesh.

The rear panels has also been tweaked with a mixture of etch and scratch.

Before I add any more that will be easy to knock off I will start on the chassis.

cheers
