Just wanted to let the guys who exhibited at the East Midlands Air Museum model show yesterday that the standard of modelling was amazing. A great inspiration to all I'm sure! My personal favorite of the day was the SU-27.

Also I came away with a Revell 1/48 Seahawk to start on. Does anyone have experience of this build? Any tips etc on colourscheme?

Definately ,missed it last year.The sheer amount of hardware on show is amazing.Excellent event.

I'm going to try and make either the Saturday or the Sunday. It's a great event to get some quality photographic reference. Hopefully it won't be a sea of mud as in some previous years!

I've just found out me and the present Mrs Ron are going down to Brize Norton in Oxfordshire later today, to help man a tea and cake tent there, being run by my son and daughter in law, this Saturday 20th.

I've just had a nose at the base web site. It sounds like a cracking day. Fly pasts galore (Red Arrows for certain, which I've never seen live!) unannounced aircraft coming and going. Live music all day and into the night, ending in a huge fireworks display.

Might even be some kits for sale....

Is anyone going to this? I ask 'cos it would be great to meet some of you folks there.

Never seen the Red Arrows!! Your in for a treat then.

I'm going to Wings and Wheels next weekend at Dunsfold aerodrome (home of Top Gear). Never been before but sounds like a good day with a nice selection of aircraft flying along with military vehicles to view too.

After looking for a club locally I have found out that the Aero Space & Vehicle Club are holding there annual show on the 4th September.

It takes place at the Community Centre and Library, in Church Road, in Wombourne, and is open to the public,from 10am until about 4pm and I understand that clubs and traders will be in attendance from all over the country also.

I am going along to meet the group as I am interested in joining them and want to see what they are all about.

If you plan to pop along also let me know

Local West Midlands Show

Newark expo 2011 sunday october 16th

HI all , just wondering if anyone is going to the newark expo this year? Its held under the grandstand at Southwell racecourse , Notts and is a great show. I go every year as its about the nearest to me , and its always a good turnout of club displays and traders. Theres a competition and a snack bar for food and refreshments ( plus i think a bar if youre not driving!) and entry and car parking are free.Ill be there ,sniffing under the club tables for a bargain and blowing all my pocket money ! so if anyone wants to meet up for a coffee and a chinwag , then post away, cheers tony

R.A.F. COSFORD, nr. TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE (just off the M54)....Sunday, 1st April.

This great show is on again.....Cracking day out with loads of trade stalls and a very nice museum too.

Anyone going?

Hopefully, I'll be 'Under the Vulcan' as usual! If anyone else is going, what time for the meet up? What about 12.00 mid.day for starters?

Any thoughts?

Ill be there ron , on the walkway under the vulcans nose, How about if anyone whos going post a pic of our collective mushes , then it might help with meeting up, plus if anyones got the bottle to still turn up after seeing a pic of some of us ,it proves their committment!!!!!! cheers tony.
