With LPG price around half of petrol, its like increasing MPG to a more respectable 12MPG!!!!!!

Gave it a few coats of 'green for grey green' filter which helped blend the various modulation tones together and give a more green tinge to the colour
once this dried I coated with Tamiya X22 to give a gloss shine then once that had dried it got a coat of 'brown wash for green'
so it now looks like this
left to dry overnight
most of this will then be removed today.......

Ah, there is a slight problem that sees this grind to a halt, at least for now
I think I may not have left the varnish long enough - there has been a reaction and the enamel weathering wash has set solid
It is meant to clean off with odourless thinner but nothing touches it - Medea, X-20, lighter fluid don’t work either
Tamiya extra thin does but rather too well
Will have to leave it alone for a few days then try and repaint and see what happens

bummer About the wash problem. I use Humbrol enamel thinner for thinning and clean up with the Ak washes but can’t say I’ve ever left them on overnight :flushed:

I am using the AK odourless - worked fine on the sturmtiger, could still adjust it after a couple of days
this time I seem to have created a new substance that could be used to coat drill tips it is so hard!
Can‘t strip with FPS or Dettol as it will just destroy it so a repaint is the way to go

Correction - MIG odourless not AK but since all these firms, VJ, MIG, AK seem to have Vallejo connections it is probably all the same stuff anyway

since the surface was impervious to all the thinners types I decided to re-spray so this is how it now looks
it has also had a coat of AK Ultra Matt this time rather than Tamiya so AK over AK - less chance of anything reacting
I shall leave it all to sit for a while now before tackling any further stages
with this fixed (hopefully) I have now created another problem by knocking the spray booth lid down onto the sturmtigger and damaging the crane and radio aerial:rolling: what a numpty
Not your beautiful crane!? Numpty? I assume it is negative, but meaning? The primer seems to have gone on well. PaulE
