discussion Spitfire Mk.Vb (Trumpeter 1/24)

Hi guys,
After finishing my Arctic Bf 109 I'd like to add an adversary - which will be a Spitfire Mk.Vb from Trumpeter (also in flight).
- Length 384.8mm (15,14")
- Wingspan 511.2mm (20.12")

This probably will be a very slow build (the 109 took 6 years lol), therefore I'm not putting it into the current "90 year of the Spitfire GB", although it will be nice joining you guys at the start of the GB.

I have the Mk.VI (02413) in the stash - this is the same kit as the Mk.Vb (02403) with the addition of the pointy wingtips which I won't be using.

Clear parts - and the pointy wingtips/prop I won't be using...


Rubber tires, steel rods and PE-hinges - 3 resin figures (won't be using them for this project)


Instructions, paint scheme (m.kVI), decals...

Made a start on this one

Cut and cleaned all parts for the first steps,


At the moment I have most of the cockpit and engine glued together, the engine won't be visible in flight but I need the propeller shaft.
The seat looks weird with the wooden panel? I'm working on a pilot so not much of the seat will be visible in the end.

You have to love a 1/24 Spitfire. I did the Airfix one a few years ago and loved it. Happy building . I will be following along Steve
