discussion Stinky Glue and my solution (hopefully)

Project " Stinky Begone" is now completed.

Purchased a sheet of Cooker Hood Carbon Charcoal filter, approx 57cm x 47cm which was cut down to size.
Made a frame using mount board and a mount cutter then reinforced it with two extra layers of board cut and glued in strips.
Attached the filter to the frame with some adhesive Velcro tape I had from previous diy projects.
Also added a small tap of tape to facilitate removal of the frame from the both, its by design a tight fit
Then cut a smaller filter for the fan housing opening from the remnants of the large filter sheet.

First tests have been very successful and hardly any noticeable odour from the adhesives.
No headaches and wife happy the house doesn't stink, think the modern parlance for that is a win/win situation.
Well worth the effort, cost was about twenty quid and that included the new A3 cutting mat for the spray booth.

I hope this improves things for you Rich. I am definately going to work on improving my Mancave ventilation, so these are some good valuable construction tips

Same I have been doing some research and there are some alternatives. None which appear to be as effective at stinking things to together as TET

Must admit the typo made me smile Los. Stinking things together seems rather apt in this discussion. . If you can’t rig up a fume removal system then your only other option is to use a decent quality respirator fitted with an A1 class filter unit.

Although my go to glue is Tamiya Extra Thin, I have used this on a few builds with some good results. It might be worth a try as well as your fume extractor. (I don't suffer from cluster headaches but I am a life-long sufferer of daily headaches and regular migraines so I can sympathise).

Thank you Arnold, it seems that Amazon sell it and I will definitely give it a try.
Sorry to hear about the migraines, have you ever tried Sumitriptan?
Comes in there forms, tablet, nasal spray and injection.
I find the Imigran branded version to be more effective than the generic type

Thanks for the Recommendation - I'll take a look at Imigran. I've had it so long I've pretty much immune to most off the shelf treatments these days, I pretty much just take Paracetamol and Ibuprofen to take the edge off and put up with it.
