Morning guys,

I pulled this one out of the stash yesterday. I've acquired quite a lot of aftermarket parts so this is going to be a slow and steady build.



The current plan is to build it wheels up and in flight, but I may change my mind yet.

I made a small start on this last night with the cockpit. Nothing fancy, just painted the tub and glued on some PE.

Great start bob , the Tamiya f16s are regarded very highly ( i mean their own tools, not the Italeri re boxes, ) it should go together with no probs . Cheers tony

Chris, anything to watch out for during the build?

I decided to use the kit bang seat in the end, the resin one is slightly too wide to fit in the tub. After a quick test fit with the pilot (so I could get his arms glued in the right position) I hacked up the kit seat and applied the PE.



And I also started work on the first part of the intake trunking. After a few application of filler, plenty of sanding and some paint I managed to achieve a seamless joint.

nothing that jumps out to be honest Bob, just make sure you double check the instructions before you settle on a 'version', at times the various holes you'll need to drill out may be confusing...

I've already researched on F-16.net, a very useful site. I'm building 86-0335 (http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/airframe-profile/2118/).

As for add on's, I have the Eduard body & cockpit PE set, Master pitot & AOA probes and static dischargers, and a nozzle set from A.M.U.R. Reaver. :tears-of-joy:

It will be nice to see this built. The F16 is probably my second most favourite jet. Even more so in an aggressor scheme.

excellent stuff indeed,

if you are using the original decals..('i'm thinking the air-frame stencils'),be wary that they are quite thick and may need shed loads of micro sol / set or future/ gloss varnish to get them to settle down properly, oh and careful reading of the decal placement sheet may be needed as a couple of them (on the canopy) aren't located correctly, but a quick 'google' for pics will see you right... :thumb2: ..

I moved on quite well over the long weekend. First up was getting the IP painted and PE added, tehn teh bang seat and pilot were painted. Once dry everything was added to the pit and the canopy fitted. The instructions would have you do this as a last step, but I wanted everything sealed up in preparation for painting.



With that done and while the glue dried I moved on to getting the forward intake and fan/nozzle together and painted.



So this is how she looks now. Still quite a few lumps and n=bumps to add, including a fair bit more PE but starting to look like a Viper.

Coming on great bob , the exhaust looks superb , bet it was fiddly though , bending all that pe into a round shape!
