So here goes.

I've never attempted a bike kit before but I can already see why some of you guys like them so much. The detail & fit has been superb so far, I'll try my best not to stuff it up 😂

I'm not much of a bike person really, even though I paint loads of them, so just picked something I had heard of lol

There's quite a lot of plastic in the box, plus a lovely full colour pamphlet of the markings, including real life reference pictures.
There's even a bag full of screws and a miniature screwdriver. Can you tell I'm new to this? 😁

So far I've assembled & painted the engine

Also, I've painted most of the black parts. A terrible picture but there's a mixture of matt, satin, and metallic blacks here.

I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on with a new challenge and hope some of you will come along for the ride...

screwdriver and screws? like a meccano and model all in one, what’s not to like!

my older brother got meccano, I got a railway set (no idea why, never liked trains), my younger brother had action man and my sister the dolls - so I always nicked the meccano - and made models.

Watching along. Only done one bike myself (Honda Blackbird) and did not make the best job of it TBH, as it was early on in my re-entrance into scale modelling, so would maybe like another crack at another one. Looks like you are on top of things, its looking good mate....

Thanks for all of the encouraging comments chaps.

Not too much to show but the engine & rear mudguard are now fitted into the frame

I've painted up the rear spring and the paddock stand. So far it's been around 90% painting, 10% construction. They are my kind of numbers 😁

Of course I didn't have the necessary colours for this so my amazing wife made an emergency trip to the hobby shop just around the corner from her workplace 😂

Intricate little beasts these bikes 😂

After spraying many spoons to check the colours I have the front & rear suspension together. Lots of different silvers were used, although the camera seems to smudge them into one

I've also assembled the exhaust system and given it a basecoat of chrome silver, with the silencer getting a more stainless steel shade (honest)

Sparkling silver over looks particularly good

First motor cycle kit and looks like you're in your element with such good progress. Detail is great. Personally I don't like kits where the parts are molded in different coloured plastic. I can understand the thinking behind it but it's unlikely that anyone paying for and tackling a kit like this wouldn't paint it.

I agree Jim, and the silver/grey plastic isn't nice to work with. It's really hard to see if you've cleaned it up properly until the primer is on, due to the variation in colour through the piece.
