Scale Model Shop

The difference between what we have and what we had

I read a comment on the other forum where the person said hello, I've moved here because I didn't like the new software, then a few posts later he said I can't workout how to post images on here, can someone help
Bet I know which one that is 😇

Hang on John......did i read that right?

Someone leaves here cos they dont like the new software.....fair enuff....free world and all that

Goes to a new place and in his hello thread he says his reason for joining is cos he dont like the software here.......did he or any others mention SM by name?

Cos if they did thats not cricket....poor etiquette....sour grapes....call it what you want but its not right

How many people have gone?....3?...4?....out of how many who are perfectly happy?

Cant please all the people all the time

Don’t think I’ve seen anything mentioning SM by name, but one of them was moaning that this site had turned into a discussion site that was more about arthritis than it was about models….stupid pillock, that’s called empathy and supporting your mates. I’d far rather be in a site where we discuss things like friends than be on one where the aim is just to post plastic and show off….doesn’t matter though, I never got the email so obviously wasn’t one of the in crowd anyway 😈

There was an email? I noticed a few people had gone and that's sad when you feel like you know them, but you never know, they might come back and we'll still be here for them. The grass isn't always greener......

Arthritis and cats………..I like cats! 🐈‍⬛

And I agree with you on the empathy for the arthritis.

Me too, it’s one of the reasons I think of this place as my local model club, rather than just a bulletin board to show off on….

Just to annoy them more, somebody brought in a mouse….guess where it went…..

Jeez......every one says this is a hobby that isnt for youngsters......we are all getting older so its normal for us all to have various ailments.....and yes its good to able to chat with like minded others

Life isnt just about bodging plastic and yes i too think of this as my 'local club' just in the ether......and it you went to a physical club you would sit around talking about stuff other than the hobby so wheres the problem

Id rather come to a friendly site where i can have a laugh than one with rigid draconian rules (one day i will tell the story of when i joined a modelling forum just to see how long i lasted....15 posts before i was banned 🤣🤣 )

Oh......more cats please 🐈‍⬛

Strange thing with forums that some people don’t seem able to grasp:

If you aren’t interested in a thread it is permissible to ignore it and move onto the next one that you do have an interest in!

Not really difficult is it 🤔

Geoff.

Yes i saw the Cat post.I found it cruel.I love cats and when we lost one in August i.was heartbroken. So many were kind enough to P.M support.I wont forget that and im always here for others.Lets not dwell on the matter and just move on fellas. No point getting into a tizzy over it.Its nice if people think they could discuss problems.Comes down to if you cant say anything nice say nothing.
Richard

This forum is the best. Best for modelling tips, help, advice whatever, and so so much more. I am inpressed with the level of empathy on this site, especially as it's mostly blokes and apparently blokes aren't good at talking and listening to personal problems. Well they are here.

Too right.I know far too many elitists that Pot hunt at Shows that give gongs out for models.

Lets move on chaps..There are still a lot of good hearted people on here. Its sad to see others go but its their choice.I dabble in a few forums.I dont post on many but gladly encourage others work.Looking at models here etc helps to keep my interest levels up.The mojo is lacking and i sure wish i had the pure love of models like i did in 70s.But times were different then and i just built Matchbox kits Glue everywhere and no paint but i loved my models. As a small child id have a model to build next to my pillow at night.A long story and childhood trauma. As long as we have a little nucleus of others we can laugh with,Have banter and empathy then its win win my friends.
Never forget i always have time for you all.Im only a P.M away.
All the best to you all always.
Richard

Just in case any of the leavers are stalking this thread, here are a couple of gratuitous cat pictures. Firstly the one that likes to sleep on my Mum's decking even though it lives next door....

And this one decided to join us for dinner one evening on holiday earlier in the summer...

Hi Tim there you go I wrte a hart felt agreement to your thoughts only to be told some crap about to many characters? As for Jack L no one has tried to persuaded others to leave many of us old friends going back to the MMweb site as tim says its as much about friendships built as it is the modeling friends tend to want to stick together
