Well today after prepping i managed to prime the hull using plastic primer from that famous car shop. I have had a major disaster before i started spraying... i decided that i was going to use my cheap airbrush for this and filled it with paint ready to start, dam thing was blocked even after cleaning it before i stored it away. Then i hunted high and low for the cleaning brush set i purchased fron John, i couldnt find them anywhere, i buy things put them safe in the workshop and can never find them again until i buy again what i lost and then they turn up.

I stripped the brush to clear the invisible blockage, took the end knozzel off held it over the bin to give it a blast with cleaner and then.... i dropped it in the bin and it vanished forever. Now i have an airbrush i cant use and ended up using my Iawata in the end.

Leave 24hrs before sanding and then turning over to do the tops of the rails.

Thats a very nice smooth primer job Andy ... most impressed.

Shame about the airbrush part thats gone to the abyss, i take it the parts easy to come by and not drastically expensive??

Thread owner
Thanks Colin. I think the airbush itself was only around £30 so its no bad, ill have to get the details and see if John can get the part. Its the jet at the front, i guess they arent too expensive to buy.

After taking the family out to our usual new year lunch i returned and headed straight for the workshop. I managed to sand down yesterdays paint job, turned the ship over and painted what the airbrush had missed and then marked on the water line ready for the red paint.

Because this paint has been thinned quite a lot i will be applying many coats to get it right. Should be ready for the Black by Sunday i think.
