The construction of the old farm building is complete. After a fair amount of indecision I decided to use very thin cork sheet for the roof tiles. Easy to make and easy to show damage. I marked out the roof with paper strips.

I decided to use pewter sheet for the ridge tiles. I'll texture them with Mr Surfacer 500.
Next is to give the whole thing a coat or two of dilute PVA and then primer.
I wanted it to look abandoned and neglected, as if the people had left as the fighting over ran the area. I didn't want a ruin.

Most encouraged by the support. A bit more progress.
The ridge tiles along the roof apex were given some texture with Mr S 500.
The sticky out dormer was roofed with corrugated iron.
The metal work was primed with VMS metal prep and the whole building, front and back, was liberally coated with dilute PVA.
Everything primed with Stynylrez black. (the photos look grey but it really is black - camera won't photograph all over black!!)
I'm particularly pleased with how that smearing on of filler has created a nice texture for the render.
