Cheers Andrew. Glad I’m coming to the decals though, I’m really bored of masking and spraying….Coming on very nicely Tim!

Thanks Geoff, my thoughts entirely. Removed overspray though because they would have been brush painted.Great job with the stripes Tim. I agree, they are more accurate being a bit rough :thumb2:
Geoff.
It does get a bit tedious doesn't it!Cheers Andrew. Glad I’m coming to the decals though, I’m really bored of masking and spraying….
But how else will I get them to stick Allen?Looking Great Tim!!! They were probably done quickly and yours look tops. If I may make a suggestion, please don't recycle the tissues after you blow your nose in them. Getting them wet and stuffing them into the holes is a fantastic idea Sir, but what was in them is more than we want to see...Thank you for your understanding.....
I'll get my coat now!!!............
Prost
Allen
Cheers Jim, appreciate the support….Stripes look good.
Lovely!!aaaaand…..we have stripes…….
Not perfect, but close enough for something that was hand painted prior to combat. Minor touch ups needed to eliminate overspray, and a minor repair to the rudder aerial rod, which I knocked off when masking for the stripes…..then gloss varnish prior to decals…..getting there at last!
Cheers AndyLovely!! :smiling3:
Thanks Rick…..easy in 1/48, they are half an inch wide :tongue-out3:Nice job on the stripes Tim........yours look just right. :thumb2:
That's cheating.....too easy!Thanks Rick…..easy in 1/48, they are half an inch wide :tongue-out3:
Not after converting from imperial, scaling down in metric, then converting back to imperial........That's cheating.....too easy!:smiling5:
My favourite is the Soviet hexagonal airfield plates that are 48" across.......Not me Karl, I go for the simple approach. The stripes are two foot wide…..that’s 24 inches, and 24 divided by 48 is half an inch…..easy peasy lemons…..
Cheers Ian. Half way through the decals now. Some are Tamiya, and some are Xtradeca. Both have issues……Tamiya are like putting on vinyl labels, and the Xtradecal ones come off the backing sheet in ten seconds flat and are all too easy to lift back off the model…..not enough glue on them I think. Oh for modern Airfix decals, they are superior in every regard….That's looking sweet.
Cheers Lee. No need to apologise, just leave a tip in the jar by the door :tongue-out3:Looks good Tim sorry for the late arrival
