Too bloody hot!!!

Went in the loft at 07.30 for about 45mins i bought the thermometer down and put in on my back yard ,i live in a terraced house so me and neighbours yard form a sun trap but it becomes an oven in a heatwave at 1pm it was 41 degrees

Got a couple of bits that need priming, but I fear it might dry instantly on the airbrush tip.
Took the car for an MOT today, told them I'd wait and no rush.
Refreshments, air con and toilets in the Toyota dealers where I take it and all good, it sailed through.
Car display showed 31C when I drove home at about 12.45, gets hot here in Cambridgeshire
A year on and exactly the same again, passed and 31c, talk about deja vu

Tried doing some detail painting on my PT boat this morning. By about 10 o'clock the paint was simply drying far too quickly even with retarder mixed into it. Thought I would change and do some work on a BookNook I have on the go. Just too hot - sweaty paws and uncomfortable sitting on the chair. Gave up and came down for a drink.
Oh for cooler times :ROFLMAO:

I hate times like this ,i was a teen in '76 and i remember 'up chuckin' with heat stroke and i was sat on a chair in my nans pantry . Then around covid time we had that 40 degree day i was working then and parts of the building had air con.
I thinking of ways to manage the heat in my house cos my front room cooks fron about 2pm when the sun comes round even with blinds and curtains shut.
I nipped into the loft at 10.30 just to get something and it was evil up there . I have thought about a portable air unit but its how and where to vent it.

Anyway enough of me moaning ,stay cool and stay safe everyone:D

I have been getting up at five, cool shower then getting a few bits done whilst its still a pleasant temperature.
All the windows open to air the house before shutting up shop when the sun comes out.
Afternoon is siesta time, Shark fan on full and hopefully a couple of hours kip.
Then about five pm its cold beers from the bottle, missus has 0% and we do the Guardian quick crossword.
Only drinking the lighter strength stuff like Modelo and original Heineken, nice and refreshing.
Chouffe and Duvel are a bit too strong when its this hot and they need to be sipped from a tulip glass.

My wife is the same age as you, applied in advance last week for her bus pass.

A weird thing happened. It was far too hot to work in my garden Friday. So I lolled about in the house (didn't even put my socks on!) I lost 3/4 of a pound, I didn't overeat. Saturday, I took a friend shopping (long, long shopping extravaganza), went home for a spot of lunch, out to the garden for some digging and bramble removal, and I put on 1/2 pound. What's going on?

Overheated and overweight Lee

Water retention. The loss was because you were not keeping hydrated while lolling about. The gain was because you were while doing those activities. After all, a half pint mug of tea weighs half a pound and you probably have around eight of those a day, plus liquid in your food.
If I get a bad RA flare (manifests as inflammation of the joints) I can put on up to four pound from one day to the next as my body generates the inflammatory fluid. As the flare goes off I pee for England and return to my normal weight. Tracking this is one way I keep an eye on my condition.

Mrs Collins became an old age pensioner on the 12th July 2026 (lol lol) even though she turned 67 in May (lol) had a problem getting her bus pass issued by the council as they told her she didn't get her pension till next May.... according to their computer system. But they admitted their mistake after a number of formal complaints and a legal letter from a solicitor. Will finally finish work next Tuesday as she had to many (work) holidays left (typical n.h.s. issues she couldn't get them in till lately, she's only working 6 hours this week and next.

Our first big day out to Whitby on Saturday 11th June wish we hadn't it was to hot and had to find respite in the local wetherspoon's as too darn hot on the coast.
