Hi all. My entry for the "Under a Tenner" group build, the Airfix 1/72 Folland Gnat, finished in the colours of the Red Arrows around 1978.

Its a bit of a fiddly build, mainly around the air intakes and the decal going over the detail on the port side of the fin. I'm not sure it's best suited as a starter kit, but is certainly quite a bit better than the previous version from Airfix!! And for the money, you can't really complain.

The last couple of pics show it with it's sister from the Yellowjacks team, which I did a while back.

Hope you enjoy :)

Thanks Joe. It's my first airbrush victim, and it's not come out too bad as such. It's not perfect, but I've learnt a lot from it, so I'm quite happy :)

The Folland Gnat is quite small in real life - so 1:72, it's great fun. I like yours Neil, that red is so vibrant. Red, of course can be a pain but this looks spot on.

Excellent job Neil , it looks fantastic! This takes me back to the finningley airshows in the 70's and 80' s , seeing the red arrows flying these. All you need now is a gnat in the white and red and trainer colours to complete the set , cheers tony

Nice one dude. It does look very good.

Parked up with the yellow jacks it really pops.

Lovely, Neil - and well done on your first job with the airbrush. The Gnat is always the plane I think of for the Red Arrows - I remember it well from going to air shows at Woodford and Blackpool when I was a kid. I also remember the old Airfix kit. It seemed alright to me at the time, but I'm sure this one is great improvement.

Thanks for all the comments chaps, really appreciate them :)

I'm not sure I'm up for another one Tony, single colour was bad enough, don't think I fancy that masking job !!!!
