Yep, its a bit she-ite here too, we were away in Norfolk for the week, it was not too bad, but a mix of rain and cloud all week. We did what we wanted to do, so decided to come home a day early, so back home now. Rained on and off all the way home, Lol.
When we got home, erm, yep, bit more rain....

Sunny Shropshire has not been so sunny over the past week ☔☔️.

We’ve had some very heavy showers but they are quite localised.

We’ve are off to Yorkshire on holiday next week so hoping the weather improves 🤞

Geoff.

10 days ago it was so hot at night I slept on top of the duvet and had an electric fan on all night. Now I have to sleep in the bed with an electric blanket. Bad weather or old age? I think both.

On the plus side, the weather seems to be absolutely terrific for weeds! We're up on the edge of the Pennines, so it is usually 5C cooler here than the coast anyway, but the weeds thrive.

The weather spoiled last weekends plans for me.

I'd spent 6 months planning for the national 3 peaks challenge; tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Yr Wyddfa (aka Snowdon) in a 24hr period, including over 400 miles of driving in-between them.

That meant coordinating days off for myself, my brother, and my wife (dedicated driver). Sorting accommodation, kit, routes. Finding a day with maximum daylight & moonlight since one of the hills is climbed at night. Not a weekend or Bank Holiday to avoid traffic & crowds that could slow our progress (the main reason 60% of people fail the challenge). Plus various other things that all came together for an ideal period of 1st & 2nd of June.

One thing I couldn't plan was the weather 🙄

My brother had been sending me pictures of Ben Nevis as he flew over it for work and the conditions had been perfect, but as we got closer to the day, three weather fronts were converging in the area which meant that by the time we set off at 6:30am on the Monday, ALL THREE mountains would have heavy rain and dense cloud cover.

The challenge is hard enough, but doing it in the pouring rain and not being able to see any of the amazing views just didn't seem appealing, so I called it off.

It looks like being next year before I can get everything aligned again, so it was a bit of a bummer.
