As the title says which bit do you enjoy the most.

Needs a few more options:
  • Adding to the stash
  • Talking about it online
  • When the model is at last finished
:)

Mine is assembly & adding those little details/changes the maker didn't include or messed up. PaulE

I enjoy the fact that I can do what I want, when I want, and it impacts nobody but myself. I can also model any subject or period I want. It’s mindfulness in the truest sense, where I live in the moment with no pressure but my own......

Posting updates and reading the banter, has to be included.
But for me the Diorama is perhaps the best part with building the model the second.

MINE is the assembly of my tiger as building the model must happen first for me

Researching and learning as much as I can about the subject I intend to model so I can do it as accurately as possible.

Just getting frustrated that everything is going wrong :flushed:

Glass (maybe 2) of wine & all is right in the world . :fearful:

Or even a crooked panel line.

Pint of beer.;)

Oh god that bit has broken off again.

A nooky of Cider.:smiling:

I have finished it is on the shelf.

A good nights sleep after all the drinks above.

not so much assembly but seeing that box of bits getting less and less as it gets assembled

got this habit of cutting excess sprue off as parts are removed, sprues get smaller and smaller til nothings left

i think another entry on the list should be 'bargains'............nothing as satisfying as scoring a bargain on ebay or at a show or online somewhere

Detailing! The artwork of Assembly for me- whether it’s using PE, or scratch building your own parts out of whatever you have to hand. Research and references are crucial for this though.

The classic “That’s nice dear” response when you proudly show her the results of your latest travails is scant reward, which is probably why blogging on a forum is so much a part of the fun these days...

Yes I do that as well Paul. Very satisfying therapeutic. Providing you do not miss a bit still on the sprue :smiling:

Got a series of the small boxes used in kitchens. I cut bits for a complete section from the sprue
then not have to go back to the sprue.

Got to admit my hobby is equally divided into research, purchase always at a good price, assembly and finishing be it a stand alone or scenario.
They all have equal standing and occur a different times.
Currently its painting heads and trying to buy a 1/32 Revell Arado 196 A dual float plane.
Tomorrow could be scribing Luftwaffe pilots into test crew and researching K5054.
That's the beauty of the hobby.

Building. Research too. I also find putting decals on strangely satisfying. I assume it's because it brings it to life if you see what I mean? But above spending time with my son when he's up for a building session.
