What flew over your house (yesterday)

Well for the past three days a Merlin helicopter has been flying into Prestwick airport as 22 regiment is doing selection on a remote west coast Island.

We had the Thunderbirds display team flying around over the main land t'other day as a thank you from the USAF. Pity they didnt think of doing the display over the Capitol!!!!

Things are looking up for the summer Just found this:

Air Show

I think I will be needing a good telephoto lens for my camera!!!

Yesterday a couple of Lynx (Ah7 i presume?) on their way up to Elgin or Lossiemouth perhaps.....low, low, low level as well ... maybe just 200 feet over the hills about 1/4 mile away.

This morning a little yellow bi-plane type thing with what looked to be crop spraying pipes underneath .... didn't know they still did that??

and as per usual hundreds of crows and gulls :)

A lone Spitfire flew over my place, nr. Chester today (Sunday) at around 1pm, going in about a N/W direction, so it should have gone over the Wirral.

No question as to the identity, I heard that beautiful sound long before I saw it. It flew directly over me but too high to read any markings.....

Anyone else see it?

Cheers,

Ron

do you know what ron, i thought i heard the spitfire but i was busy on the throne and could see anything when i had finished but it sounded like it went down the mersey. thought i was imagining it at the time.

It must have been the same one Andrew, 'cos judging by it's heading it must have gone over your part of the Wirral..

Bit inconsiderate of it though, you think it would have flown around a bit 'till you had finished on the bog!

I know i'm cheating here as these didnt actually fly over my house!.I was at work at Southend Airport last Saturday and these two BBMF Spitfires landed. They were here along with the Lanc on an overnight stop on the way to France. Our company lets them use a bit of our hanger space for free.

Maybe a little cheat, but well worthy. No complaints here. Did you know they were comming or was it a hell of a surprise ?

Colin M...........

It was a nice surprise. The aircraft were imaculate, as you would expect with the BBMF.They were that worried about getting foreign objects in the tyres that both pilots swept the floor with brooms in front of their aircraft.I told one of them i was in the RAF for 12 years and i never once saw an officer sweep the floor!.

not sure whats going on in the wirral, yesterday we had a tornado fly down the river mersey and a couple of chinooks flew over me in work and just saw a chinook again about an hour ago flying over towards liverpool

With this government at the moment they are probably flying to the local scrap yard lol
