In Sweden they use Robots to shoot things out of the sky with. Its what they call missiles ...

My fav have to be the Laurel and Hardy of the robot world....C3PO and R2D2..

all secured websites have robots,sometimes they are for greeting people to the site,or with google they use them to count haw many people use a site and then it gets rated,personally they suck if its not a secure site as they can spread viruses and malware worms,is hackers get the code for them,which is easier nowadays with chrome as the elements of pages can be inspected
