Alas Ade, Marvin is not a robot, he's a paranoid android. Getting his name wrong is just one more thing he's gonna get depressed about - him and his brain the size of a planet!

Thank you so much. The real answer came from the new boy Wilko. The rest of you though, good lord, the mind boggles. And Tony, typing that word, even in binary, naughty step for you !

Now then, I wonder dare I do this, yes another question. What are they doing then ?

Its 214923 isn't it ??

Or is my base 2 ''spider-sense'' playing up?

Sensible head on then.....

Bots are automated scripts popped out on the t'interweb by search engines like Google yahoo etc.

They drift around the internet indexing all the content for forums, social media sites etc so the search engines can provide this as added content when someone searches for a particular subject.

That's it in a very basic explanation, there's lots more to it than this but I'd bore you senseless.

Quite right Col. I set up a little spreadsheet to find out and got one of my columns upside down!

So now I want to know just what is so special about 214923!

Tony? Hello? Where has that boy got to? TONY!

Incidentally, did you know there are only 10 types of people in this world?

Those who understand binary and those who don't.

There is a theory (only a theory mind) that there are actually 11 types of people.

Those who understand binary, those who don't understand it and those who have no idea what I'm talking about!
