poll on paints

Hello all just been thinking about paints as I have been having problems how about having a poll to see what paints everyone uses a simple list and vote on ones you use.

I don't know if this can be set up but thought it might be interesting and useful, any thought welcome.

You'll find a great variety depending on the modelling medium.

I use tamiya acrylics and citadel acrylics, which I like for the matte finishes, for durability and gloss, humbrol enamels.

Baring Tamiya, which I cant get hold of here, I use just about anything. Humbrol, Vallejo, WEM, Xtracrylix, Alclad. Who ever happens to make the colour I am after.

Want it in matt spray with matt varnish. If I want it nice and shiny...Jep! Gloss varnish.

So could we set up a list of paints to (click on to list what you use) and create stats? there is one further down on the chat for imperial/metric

I have only been modelling for about 5 month so not much experience but was into games workshop as I kid (bit of background)

I use Humbrol and Xtracolour enamels. And for the final matt clearcoat i use Vallejo (acrylic).

i use revell aquacolour acrylics( thinned with tamiya thinner for airbrushing), games workshop citadel metallics and a small amount of tamiya acrylics for airbrushing certain colours that revell dont do.

I only brush paint and the only Acrylic worth using with this medium is Vallejo Model Colour.

For enamels I use either Humbrol or Revell, whichever is cheapest and available at the time!

Polls have to be created at the same time as the post, I will start another thread for you with a poll in it

Thanks for setting this up got some stats already I will keep checking from time to time.

Hi punchy, i use tamiya and vallejo acrylics and I also use quite a lot of games workshop paints. My son gave these to me when he lost interest in the GW stuff. Ive found them to be fantastic , easy to use and very good coverage, and they brush beautifully (i recently brush painted one of my aircraft , the sopwith triplane)Obviously they dont have the matched colours as most of the other paint ranges do but with a bit of careful comparison or mixing you can usually get a good match, and of course the basic silvers , blacks, whites etc are universal. So dont throw out those citadel paints !!!! cheers tony
