Right here goes, still not 100% about what ship to actually build for my first bash! So would appreciate opinions and advice, so heres the poll

A: 1:400 Heller Graf Spee
B: 1:400 Heller Richelieu
C: 1:400 Heller King George V
D: 1:350 Tamiya King George V
E: 1:350 ICM Konig
F: 1:350 Zvezda Oriol

Bob

To be truthful Bob I've not much knowledge on ships, but have of course heard of A , so A it will be.

A

WELL no one else voted yet ? an Bob how long is this vote goin on for ?
chris

As it is your first bash at a was canoe, I would suggest the Tamiya KGV. Purely on the grounds that Tamiya kits are normally easy to get on with and almost build themselv.
So my vote would be D

Good point Ian!

I think the Tamiya KGV will be the best intro to big ship models, in terms of fit and instructions, so D

The Tamiya KGV for mr, Bob.

Cheers,
Richard

I’d go with D, always a soft spot for King George V

Thanks all looks like the KGV is first up for scrapping sorry building lol.

I have a Royal navy paint set on the way, as well as USN

Bob,
if you decide to go down the aftermarket route - there are a lot of bits available for the KGV - metal gun barrels, PE railings, resin funnels - and wood decks! - just depends on how deep your pockets are! You'll need a bigger shelf - it's around 650mm long!

Thanks Dave, by chance have just ordered pe railings, might look at wooden decks but might use as practice for brush painting and weathering

What has this to do with a StuG ?
Very worried that you have joined the navy.
Of course grey paint may play a part in this.
Worried of Broadmoor .
