Hi All,

I have joined this hobby since Jun last year and have completed 40 models so far although only the last three models are worth displaying. That said, what do people here do with their old models? Bin them, store them or something else? Just curious.

I think I've only managed about fifty in ten years so the issue is a little less pressing for me. I've binned a couple and given one or two away. The others are quite happy to gather dust until I run out of space.

Managing the stash though.... now that is more of an issue..... 🤔

I think I asked this last year, Lol....
I was running out of space, but have dismantled some, and kept parts that I think I might use again.
Did think about ebay, some do sell, but there's the hassle of packing so it does not get damaged, etc?
Did think about charity shops, but TBH you don't see many made models in there, certainly not the ones I've been in?
Did consider giving them away, have one little nephew, the rest are grown up, but you can't really "play" with scale models, they will be destroyed in minutes, so.....
Some of my early ones, not that good, Lol, I did just bin.
I do have a shelf where I put my last few models, but its not very big and does not hold that many, so they get rotated.
You could offer them up on here, some may want them to use for experiments or to get parts from, or whatever?
Cheers

I am thinking about contacting local care homes or hospices to see if they would like to display them. They might bring some pleasure to the residents.

Good old Ikea display cabinets, luckily the kids have grown up and moved out so I have taken over room for my modelling, slowly filling up but intend a re vamp this summer!
