What's on the bench 2022

That war time photo was recoloured Steve.
I agree with Neil with the stone colour, of course sunlight plays an important part in how a building appears as the photos posted show. Airborne grime at the time of the battle would have been a great factor in changing the appearance. As Tim has pointed out about the staining after winter , so what it must have suffered at the battle. A grey wash over the beige sandstone would as you say perfect .
Looking fwd to seeing more .

Still moving at a snail's pace with the Flak truck, tending to details before beginning the gun. But I came across a few earlier chassis pics and took a few close ups of the engine for anyone interested. Wish I could have found a walkaround ref for this truck.

I'm glad you are posting a lot of pics on this Ron............I intend to build one and since I don't have any plans, all the pics. will be very helpful. Thanks again, Rick H.

Rick, I just came across a terrific step-by-step of two L4500 Bussing Nag lorries (parallel comparison of the old Calibre35 resin job and AFV Club's kit) at Panzerserra's Bunker. It's got some useful pics there. Granted, I stalled out and decided to press on with my own by buttoning up the hood prematurely...

PS i'm dubious on the non-slip texture of this kit's platform floor plating, seems out-of-scale to me. Might have been better to scratch a new one from some photoetch

Put this on the bench this morning the wife bought it for me last night at Hobby Lobby she’s such a sweetheart. It’s cold and snowing here today. After opening it and checking it over I thought I would return to my childhood today and do what I used to do on these kinds days when I was around 8 or 9 years old build model planes. I had this one when it was under the name Monogram.

So, I have added this little scooter to my "box" of cars to be worked along with them. I have added some details to try and breath some life into an otherwise mundane little model. This will ultimately be used as an inner city "Air Raid" Ambulance.P1012041.JPG

Last night before going to bed I painted the inside of the fuselage and Cockpit. Being the P-51 Mustang and the Spitfire shared the same Merlin Engine I’ll be adding some more detailed Exhaust. 8A5984CF-4A76-4FF0-B03C-8C12143221FF.jpeg7FA44198-5EB2-4E0E-91F5-0C536206095E.jpeg

Very nice Ron. That's some nice engine detail, see you going to leave the covers off !

Hi John, yes but the build languished at the workbench for nearly two weeks (work, tired, sore, etc., etc.) and I just felt the urge to forge on for a "jump start". Which meant fixing the hood and cab. My logic was, as long as the fenders weren't installed, should have enough room to detail a bit. Boy , do I regret that logic now lol.

Can I please remind you all that this thread is intended to just throw the odd picture up of what is on the bench Not detailed and continuing builds.
We have a section for just about anything and everything. I urge you all to use them. There are some very interesting posts in here that will eventually be lost in all the confusion.
If this thread is to survive, can we please get it back to the plot and keep the build threads in the build sections.

Are you referring to me Ian ?

No one directly, but that build you are into right now looks amazing and it must be worth a thread of its own....

There has just been a surge in the posts in this thread that could be much better in a thread of their own.
It was my understanding that the idea behind this thread was "this is what is on the bench", a photo or two and thats it.
