What's on the Bench 2023

Beauty of a paint job on this one Mr. Muddle.....well done!! :thumb2: :thumb2:
Thanks Rick.
Faster than another Churchill build I can think of …

I would replace the tow cable by something thicker and with more of a curve to it, though.
Lol. The tow is spun wire and scales out at 35mm, also fixed and pai Ted in situ. So that'll have to do.

I'm doing a wingy thing group build elsewhere so have the Revell Heinkel He111 h3 from the "Icons of Aviation" Battle of Britain... what a pile of :poop:. Raised lines, bad fit, enough flash to build another (that i wont!), instructions as clear as getting directions from a Geordie whilst riding a unicycle in Siberia!:tongue-out3: It goes on... can't wait for it to be off my bench and back to wheely and tracky things! :hugging-face:

Lee, I completely understand where you're coming from. My recently finished JU52 M was the same kind of PITA....closest I've ever come to tossing one in the bin.;)

Rick, it was a close call mate, I walked away from the bench however many times!

Yes Lee but like myself you're probably just stubborn and determined enough no to let some inanimate object get the better of you!! Fight on Brother :thumb2: :thumb2:

Fight almost won, decals and weathering to be done... then hide it on a shelf at the back out of sight! Lol

There's a hulking great Warhammer tank on my bench at the moment!

For my lad. He normally primes his own stuff but with this being so big (1/35 figure for reference) he asked me to do it. Might as well use dads products than buy his own :smiling5:

Apparently it's one kit that can be built up into 8 different versions. He's magnetised lots of it so that he can swap between version by flipping or moving panels and adding different sponson or weapons.

There's some more bits to prime yet but I'll try and blag a picture once it's all painted.

Mr Surfacer 1500 by the way.

There's also a few minis in the background that I've started on tonight. I'm not sure about you other guys that swap between both but jumping from an armour build to a 28mm miniature takes some readjusting for me just yet!

That’s a big ‘un isn’t it……but then Warhammer is closer to 1/48th that it is to 28mm. Know what you mean about the readjustment, always takes a little while to get my eye in….

That tank is HUGE......just jumping from an Opel Blitz truck to the Junky JU52 I just finished was a giant step in scale! Never mind going into a larger scale.....for me it would be Traumatic!! :tongue-out3: Probably need Matron to put me right....;)

Sick Boy ...

So this is currently on the bench and I think I'll start a build thread on this little beauty. This is the cleanest cast resin kit I have ever seen in 1-87 scale. Wall thickness is very thin for the scale and the surfaces ae so smooth I thought it was a styrene kit when I first opened it. Tip 'O the Hat to WSW (Wings Ships Wheels) for their extremely precise workmanship!P1012634.JPGP1012623.JPGP1012635.JPGP1012636.JPG

I've had good experience w/this 1/87 scale maker, 15cm Nebelwerfers, 7.5cm IGs, 5cm PAK, & sdkfz10 halftracks.

This is the only experience I've had with them Paul but I am not surprised that you have had the good fortune of enjoying the quality of their kits as it seems to be the norm.....it appears that their quality is consistent throughout their line of products. I will be looking at their entire line of kits to see if there is anything else that might work in my line of interest. :thumb2:
